we’d already had the pleasure of creating a chic pied-a-terre in London for this glamorous couple with a young family, when they asked us to help create a more chic ambience for their country house, a tudor manor house built 1532, creating a similarly comfortable yet glamorous feel, but sympathetic to the grade II listed property and its materials and location

this is a beautiful house, with a sublime garden created by the owners, and it was a dream project, gently adding style and improving function through careful spatial planning of the main spaces, to create new living and dining areas, a cosy den for TV watching, and large entertaining spaces

for finishes and a palette we took our references from the faded tones of the old external beams with their grey/lavender undertones, and the surrounding gardens, and internally used natural finishes in wools and silks, steel, waney edged oak, suede, cashmere and horsehair, to ensure the natural traditional finishes in muted shades blended beautifully with their surroundings
